Boston Marathon Training: 9 Weeks Till Race Day

Pure exhaustion MUST mean marathon training! This week’s tempo workout got me really anxious about how I was suppose to hit 6:15-6:30/mi splits on super tired legs especially right after some downhill weight strength training to really beat them up... During my third interval I wanted to throw in the towel and just tell Coach Ben that I couldn’t give it my all.. Then I thought about what kind of person would this make me if I quit whenever it got hard. All the thoughts flooded my brain as I continued the tempo workout on tired legs. Last mile interval, I visualized seeing the finish line at the end of a race & gave it my all. I charged ahead finishing my final mile of the tempo workout with 6:23/mi.
