Boston Marathon Training: 14 Weeks Till Race Day
Week 3: 1/13/20-1/19/20
Recap: Completed Weekly Mileage 40
Hello Week Three of Boston Marathon training! Though I felt very off this week physically, I’m excited to have reached my weekly goal of 40 miles! A smart and steady buildup since November, I can feel the strength grow in my mind and body.
Like I mentioned above, this past week was physically rough for me. My body craved sleep and it pained me to find the motivation to get out the door to run. I knew once I got my body moving, I would feel fine which turned out to be true 100% of the time. Hopefully next week’s motivation to train won’t feel as difficult, and I will closely monitor my nutrition as well.
The highlight of the week, discovering my mental ability to dig deep and find that other gear which shows me I have more left in my tank. With my 5k race around the corner, I KNOW exactly how to tap into my reserves. I’m so excited to show myself what I’ve been capable of all along!
Lesson of the week: Be Brave!
Do you ever look at a workout and think, “How am I suppose to achieve these paces?” It’s time to BE BRAVE and switch that mindset. Before all my workouts this week, I manifested bravery into all my runs. With every step that I take, I fill my heart and mind with GRATITUDE that I GET to run fast and injury-free. I choose my thoughts and what I am capable of. I remind myself that I am brave to get out the door and thank my body & heart for working hard to make my dreams come true. It takes a lot of practice to be brave and have courage, but you CAN achieve bravery everyday if you just try.

Favorite treat of the week:
Coconut water from Taste Nirvana has been my favorite post run beverage with real chunks of coconut and over 400mg of potassium per serving. With all natural ingredients, this delicious water tastes like a freshly cracked open a coconut. Enjoy!
